An Outstanding, Upstanding Schizachyrium

Read PostFor the past few months, we’ve been watching a planting of Schizachyrium scoparium ‘The Blues’. It’s in the Charlotte Brody Discovery Garden at Sarah P. Duke Gardens. Little Bluestem provides food and shelter for insects, birds, and small mammals—that’s one of the reasons it’s included in the Discovery Garden.

For an in-depth look, go to our Little Bluestem overview. It includes links to profiles of the species and all the cultivars we grow.
