We wrapped up a whirlwind of trade shows in January with Green & Growin’ in Greensboro, North Carolina. This is our home show, and it’s always a fantastic time for us. The show was hopping, and the Hoffman Nursery booth stayed busy. Here are a few highlights in pictures.
Emily, Hannah, and Jessica from our Growing Team helped prepare plants for the show. A big thanks for all their hard work and the gorgeous plants.
Magan Agee takes a minute after setting up the booth before the show. Our booth theme was green infrastructure, so we brought plants that work well for projects like rain gardens, bioswales, meadow plantings, and lawn alternatives.
We were happy when Pat Cullina stopped by North Carolina on his travels. Formerly with the High Line and the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, Pat now consults, designs, and lectures across the U.S. and abroad. His work integrates the natural world and built environment in ways that engage and inspire visitors. Of course, we always look forward to talking grass with him.
We enjoyed chatting with Brie Arthur, a propagator, foodscape designer, and horticultural media personality. We talked with her about the importance of promoting the broader benefits of plants and can’t wait to see what she has in store for the coming year.
While we were at the shows, the January issue of Greenhouse Management magazine came out. We were proud to have John & Jill Hoffman on the cover and to share the cover story with the Travens of Peace Tree Farm and the Cleavers of Culberson Greenhouses.
Shannon Currey and John Hoffman had a fun visit with Helen Yoest, a writer, editor, and garden blogger who lives here in North Carolina. Helen spent time this summer touring Dutch gardens, which cemented her interest in grasses. We loved hearing about her travels and her new book, Good Berry, Bad Berry . Can’t wait to see it!
Green & Growin’ was a satisfying end to our winter show season. Thanks to all who visited. Now that the shows are passed, we’re eager to dive into new projects. We’ll keep you posted.
