Last month Hoffman Nursery had a landscape design contest for college students. Their task was to create a design for the beds that surround the front of our main office.
We had numerous entries from four different North Carolina schools—North Carolina State University, North Carolina A&T, Sandhills Community College, and Alamance Community College.
After much deliberation, we had a tie for the win. The winners, Amy Fogleman and Currin Blakley from Sandhills Community College, will collaborate on the final design together. They’ll also act as “project managers” to gain a full circle experience and see their design come to life. Be on the lookout for a future blog post with the final results!
We would like to thank everyone for their amazing and unique entries. We are excited to see such engagement from students and look forward to this talented group joining the horticulture industry very soon.
Last week brought students from all over the country to North Carolina. They were here to attend the 42nd National Collegiate Landscape Competition (NCLC), hosted by Alamance Community College in Graham, North Carolina.
The National Collegiate Landscape Competition, an initiative of the National Association of Landscape Professionals, celebrated its 40th year. Hoffman Nursery was there to encourage this next generation of horticulturists.
