DISCONTINUED - This version of Pampas Grass is considered a dwarf (5 feet, 7 feet with flower), so it is well-suited to the small-medium garden. Cortaderia selloana ‘Pumila’ grows in an arching shape and produces numerous dramatic, narrow, creamy white plumes that sit above the foliage on firm stalks. This cultivar is more hardy than the species, and its green-gray leaves remain evergreen in warmer climates. In spring, Dwarf Pampas Grass should be cut back; care should be taken to use gloves and protective clothing to avoid cuts from its sharp-bladed leaves. Cortaderia selloana ‘Pumila’ is also spectacular in large decorative urns. It is native to the plains regions of Argentina, Brazil and Chile and is adapted to hot sun and humidity.
