More Than Grasses at the Hoffman Market

For a few hours last week, Hoffman Nursery “sold” more than grasses. An employee committee set up a market stocked with gently-used goods donated by employees. Then we all got a chance to shop the market using special “Hoffman Bucks.” For every Hoffman Buck we spent, the nursery donated a dollar to the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina. Those with unspent Hoffman Bucks could donate their bucks outright.

Market items included everything from fancy scarves to sweatshirts and insulated lunch bags to wine glasses. There were even a few kitchen items where it wasn’t clear what they did! But the committee figured it all out and pulled off a fun and successful event.

We are proud of employees who donated items and of our team who conceived and organized this event. A big thanks to Maggie Griffin, Emily Neas, Annie Saunders, Rian Bigelow, Robert Elder, Scott Stirrup, Martha Hamblin, and Scott Epps. It was great for the nursery and for the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina.

Take a peek at our Hoffman Market. And don’t miss the Hoffman Bucks at the bottom!
