The bottlebrush plumes of Fountain Grass are always eye-catching. Here’s the foliage to match! Lumen Gold Fountain Grass offers splendid, golden color and a rounded, compact habit. Think of it as a super-stylish Pennisetum ‘Hameln’. The foliage emerges bright gold in spring and softens to lemon in early summer. In our southeastern heat, it has transitioned to a light green by summer’s end. Lumen Gold, which bears the varietal name ‘JS Jommenik’, was discovered as a branch mutation of P. alopecuroides ‘Gelbstiel’ by Jan Spruyt in his nursery in Buggenhout, Belgium.
Lumen Gold Fountain Grass was introduced to us and licensed through Concept Plants. This variety is protected by USA patent. Propagation without permission is strictly forbidden.

GROWER INFO & TIPS
- Growth rate: medium-fast
