Summer Internship

General Nursery Management

This internship will help the participant understand various parts of the business and how they work together to make our wholesale ornamental and native grass nursery operate successfully. The intern will spend time with most sections of the business including growing, shipping, production, sales, marketing, facilities, inventory, and more. If an intern has a strong interest in a particular area of the business, we may be able to accommodate a more thorough exploration of that area of interest. This program will provide practical experience in running a nursery in today’s evolving industry.

Some Internship Details

Desired Qualifications:

  • A strong willingness to learn and a good work ethic.
  • Must have a passion for plants
  • Must be eager to learn about grasses
  • Must be a sophomore, junior, or senior currently enrolled in a 2- or 4-year studying horticulture, agricultural business, environmental sciences, or other closely related majors OR a recent graduate of same
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Must provide own transportation

Compensation:

  • $10.00/hour

Location: Southeastern US. Rougemont, NC, north of Durham, NC

Work week: 5 days a week, 40 hours per week with occasional weekend work

Notification by April 2, 2019

Internship Dates: May 28 – August 2, 2019
