GROWER INFO & TIPS

  • Growth rate: slow-medium
  • Grow in 1 or 2 gallon containers (larger sizes will take a while to fill out)
  • Grow in well-drained soil
  • Water needs: keep evenly moist; avoid keeping plants wet
  • Fertilizing: use a slow release, low-rate fertilizer
  • Possible pests: Bactra venosana caterpillar, fungus gnat larvae, thrips, susceptible to root rot diseases such as Rhizoctonia and Phythium
  • Overwintering: cold frame with clear poly; this plant is very sensitive to overwatering—do not overwater
